Fay, as a matter of fact I did take the rear bell off when we were working in the engine area, and I forget to put it back on..IVY found some more bells and put them back on there..I think I'll leave them on there now..
Hey all , well I went down to the bike shop today and picked up the BLUE DRAGON..I had a direct short from the fuse box to the flasher..Flasher was fryed, replaced it, replaced the fuses and away we go..Except for the left wheel problem that I still have..I found some lug nuts to replace the ones I lost, and they work good but, after I got it all together and took it for a test ride, I now have a grinding sound in the wheel as it turns..I just parked it in the garage and threw in the towel for the day..I'll get on it tomorrow, or the next day..I'm hoping its just a piece of the road that I chewed up when the wheel drum hit the ground and spun a few times before I could get it under control..It could also be the brake shoe might be cracked or something inside. I won't know for sure until I tear it all down again and pull the drum..I just hope I didn't crack the seal in the wheel bearing or even the bearing itself..I need to quit torturing myself with what could be wrong and let it rest for now..I'll keep you informed as to the progress of getting back on the road safely..I'm all for doing thing the best that is possible, so it WILL be right before I turn it over to momma..And even then I will be watching things like a hawk on our runs..Thanks for the response to this..Just glad its not my funeral you are responding to..ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG, I'm going to live forever..MB out...
HEY BEAR, GOOD TO HEAR YOU'RE OKAY. I THINK I'LL GO CHECK MINE. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO A TWO WHEELER, ESPECIALLY THAT WAY. HANG IN THERE BEAR, OR MAYBE I SHOULD SAY HANG ON THERE BEAR. CATCH YA LATER, DALE
Losing a wheel has got to be a hairy experience. Glad that you and the trike are OK. Could have been quite a ride at 70mph. MIght be a good place for a little Lock-Tite but who would a thunk they would all come off.
LUCKY TO BE ALIVE, what an understatement..Today I decided to ride our trike down to town to the bike shop to have the signal lights fixed on there.. As I was coming to a stop at about 35 MPH the left rear tire and wheel decides to come off and tried to throw me in the ditch..Being the rider that I am is the only thing that saved my life..I controlled the trike and got her to the side of the road in a safe spot..I lost all the lug nuts on that side..Had to go to the house get a truck and trailer and go pick her up..I pulled 2 lug nuts off the right side so we could get the wheel back on and up on the trailer..I then took her down to the bike shop to have the work done and now I need lug nuts..They are a special type for those special wheels for those special tires, for my special brain, that is just so damn special I could shi-..No I'm not upset..I should never trust a job to someone else when I should do it myself.nuff said on that. Bottom line is I'm OK, the trike is OK, just minor repair, and we will be up again..Just thought I would share my mis fortune with you..Word of wisdom, check you lug nuts..The life you save may be your own..I can't imagine what Ivy would have done to me if this had happened to her on the trike..Gee I am pretty lucky..Later, MB out.evileye:
