Isn't it nice to have a trike to keep things interesting. I caught a short story on the news about the Veteran's Rally in Branson. It looked like they had a great turnout for it. Glad you two were there to represent BTW. I know there were some other BTW members there also. We met a few of them and are going down today to hook up with another couple. Not sure what to tell you about the oil loss. Sounds like it might be time for some new push rod tubes. Sometimes I think the VW re-invented the old total loss oil system they used to use on single cylinder motors or maybe it is just us trike builders who did it. One thing about losing that much oil, oil changes are never a problem (smile). Good luck and let us know what you find when you finaly get out of bed and back to work on the trike.
We finally made it home, after a series of of minor incidents..We would like to thank Jim and Lady for opening up their home to us for the night..I'm sorry we couldn't wave a magic wand and make that floor fix itself, but things happen..We just have to go with the flow..The POKER RUN was lots of fun..WET is in this year..After we got loaded up for the rest of our journey for the weekend, we made it to our motel, checked in, and dropped the trike off and went to my VOV meeting..We met the next morning and went on the run to Branson..Everything was going just like clockwork, until Ivy broke formation and pulled up beside me and yelled those famous word that every triker hates to hear..NO OIL PRESSURE, and you could hear the lifters slapping in there..We had to break it off and get to a station fast..Found one the next exit, got off, checked the oil, not even on the stick..3 quarts later I started it up and adjusted the timing a little and we headed south trying to catch up to the pack but we never did, so we ended up back at the motel..We locked up the Trike and my Harley and took my truck and went the back way into Branson..At least we made it there..We went back to Nixa and had dinner at a really nice place called Bumsteads..They cater to bikers and Trikers..Maybe we can set up a dinner run there sometime during the National..They are great people and they have a really nice place..Well one more night in the hard beds at the motel and we were up and out of there early..We got home about 2PM and we were so worn out, we felt like we had been on a cross country run..I'm getting too old for some of this stuff..Oh well only the good die young, so I'm going to live forever..Any body want to rebuild a VW engine??I don't really know what is wrong yet, but I suspect it is the O rings on the tubes worn out and leaking..I won't know anything until I check it out..We will be sleeping in our own bed for a solid week, so if we seem like we dropped off the planet, thats what we are doing..Love and huggs to all yall..MB out.
