Doctor Dale - It is really great the you doctor types are looking out fo the well being of the ol' bats. They are on the verge of extintion now. Course, considering how old some of them are, that is only natural. I've read that they have discovered bat remains that are millions of years old. I am pretty sure a few of our ol' bats could top that. How many zeros are there in 39 anyway?

WELL JIM, I HAVEN'T HAD MUCH TIME TO POST, I GUESS I SHOULD GIVE AN UPDATE ON THE REASON FOR SHUTTIN DOWN SOME OF THE CAVES. JIM, IT'S NOT REALLY A BUG THE BATS HAVE. IF IT WAS, THEY'D JUST EAT IT. IT'S CALLED WHITE NOSE & IT'S CAUSED FROM STICKIN THEIR NOSE WHERE IT DON'T BELONG. A BUNCH OF US BAT DOCTORS GOT TOGETTHER & DECIDED IF WE CLOSE SOME OF THE CAVES TO PEOPLE, THE OLE BATS WOULD KEEP THEIR NOSE OUT OF OUR BUSINESS & MAYBE EVENTUALLY RID THE WHITE NOSE DISEASE. JUST HOPE IT WORKS. THE WHITE NOSE DISEASE DOESN'T ACTUALLY HURT THE OLE BATS, THE PROBLEM IS THE WHITE NOSE IS SO OBVIOUS THAT THE BUGS CAN SEE THEM COMMING AFTER THEM & ARE AVOIDING CONSUMPTION BY THE THE OLE BATS & THEREFORE CAUSING OLE BAT STARVATION. IT'S REALLY QUITE COMPLICATED, BUT I'LL KEEP YA'LL UPDATED ON OUR FUTURE FINDINGS IN THIS CALAMITYconfuse

Been a week since anyone posted anything on this forum. Did everyone go to sleep? I know that ol' bats have to be out of hybernation now cause I got guano all over the deck last night. Of course, Rosie and Possum were here yesterday which might explain part of it. Haven't even heard any updates on Orkin Al's Bat Pulvilizer. Figured that would have made the 6 oclock news by now. I did see where they are shutting some of the caves here in Missouri down because humans carry some kind of bug that is harmful to bats. How is that for a twist? Maybe they need to give Doctor Dale a call. Sure he has a cure for what ails them. SWAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
