My dad lost an eye as a young man, before I was born. He was chopping wood and had chips flying everywhere, drew the axe up for another swing just as a long slender chip came down. The chip or whatever you call it sliced into his eye. When he got to the hospital, he laid in the hallway on a guerney for hours before he was treated. They had to remove the entire eye ball and fitted him with a glass eye to match his other one. He had to take it out at night when he slept because if it got too hot, it would explode in his eye socket (they later developed plastic ones that wouldn't do that.) When I was a young girl and would bring home a friend to play, he would take out that eye and hold it in his hand and chase her around the house while she squealed in horror. Hee hee Sounds like something you would do.
He never had to shut one eye anymore when he went hunting. He used a .22 rifle and could get a squirrel or rabbit nearly every time he shot. He had a rule, though: he would never shoot a sitting rabbit; it had to be running. I still have the rifle, but I'm not a hunter...never could stand the thought of shooting anything (except the drunk neighbor who came into my house with bad intentions. I managed to talk and push him out, and told him that if he ever came back I'd shoot, and I would have!) Well enough of that. I think I have you beat for jawin' Hee hee
