Well it ended up being a great day. Good food Good people. The auction was good and the grand total for food, poker runs, auction and other donations was a whopping $6000.00. I'd say that that money will be a big help considering that they already have over $300,000.00 in medical bills and lots more to come. I sure hope that if Larry and I ever are in an accident like that that we have as good of freinds and community to give us a helping hand. Larry talked to Vic and he said that someday when all the healing is done and he can get back to work and get the bills in check He'll be riding again. But the next time he probably will be building a trike, so we might see him in BTW and OMT yet. Just wanted to keep you informed. Thanks, Chris
This Saturday October 22, 2005 The Benefit is for Vic & Jeanne Plante. They are the people who have Ace Muffler & Auto Repair in Theodosia. A couple weeks ago they were in a motorcycle vs. car accident. They were of course on the bike and really got hurt bad. He has to have a complete knee replacement and she is in a halo, plus a multitude of other problems. This is a reap what you sow kind of deal because they have always helped others get back on their feet. "I'm beginning to feel that a lot of bikers these days are like that." Anyway several Bike clubs are involved in this. Bikers United is having a poker run leaving Walmart in West Plains (be there at 9:00to register leave at 10:00). Later they will have an auction and food in Theodosia at Ace Hardware. Abate is also having a poker run, Rumble in the Hills Benefit Poker Run. Meet at the Exxon in Gassville Arkansas, leave out at 11:00am., last card at ACE Hardware in Theodosia,MO Bring your helmet. Lots of good things up for auction including a .410 shotgun and a biker quilt. Also a 50/50 drawing plus other prizes. Good fun, Good food, Good People for a Good cause.
