Well, I had hoped you would have the July newsletter by now...that was my plan. But my life went haywire the last three or four weeks, so my newsletter time was eaten up with family affairs. Carl cut his leg on a rough piece of muffler on one of the trikes he's working on, and it got infected (Carl's leg, not the trike). He finally went to the doctor and got a tetanus shot and some antibiotics. Took the meds for ten days, then broke out in an allergic reaction and was itching all over & his hands swelled up. So he stopped taking the meds, but naturally it was a weekend; we had to wait till Monday to call the doctor. She told me to give him some benadryl if he could take it. I said he could take it that day because he was home, but couldn't take it if he was working because it would make him sleepy. His leg is still not healed. Meantime I developed a urinary tract infection and got put on an antibiotic, which gave me a headache and made me nauseous. Each day I took it I felt worse, so I quit taking it. But by then I had been sluggishly trying to put together a newsletter and trying to ignore the headache and nausea, until I finally felt so bad I couldn't do anything. I lost one whole day of newsletter time being sick. Of course I also had my sister here for several days (she comes down to accompany me to my doctor appointments at Columbia). Then I had another follow-up with my local doctor, a company picnic to attend with daughter Carla to celebrate the 4th, and a myriad of other things to take care of. But I still had time, I thought, to get the NL in the mail...it was almost done. Then Carl decided to work on my computer on his day off--it had gotten so slow it was frustrating to work on and I couldn't access my email, had to use his computer to do that. He decided to wipe out and reload my Windows; had to do it twice before it loaded right. And since that is time-consuming, there went another day of my NL computer. Then I got a call from my niece, who I had not seen for about 20 years, saying she and her adult stepson would be stopping by for "a couple of days" and would arrive the next day. So at that point I knew I would not get the NL done before the meeting. There went another two days of time I had allocated for the NL. Somehow the things I have at the top of my priority list gets shoved down to the bottom. I don't know if that's because I am the "mom" or if it's because I don't raise enough h..l and just say "No"! If my plans work now, I will have the NL done and can hand it out at the meeting to the subscribers who are there, and mail the others (but you know what happens to my plans.) Well, I guess I've sung the blues enough. I don't know how Jim & Marilyn handle the stress involved in putting together this annual Trike event. They must be extraordinary people!
