Well we have decided to have this little adventure 2 more days, and by then we will be totally burned out..Today they told us that they were expecting an influx of up to 500 people in the very near future, so whatever we take to them now will be held back to help these people coming in..We are now collecting for the OZARK ACTION..They have offices all over the area, even in Ava..We will keep the Red Cross signs up, because they told us to..More people are responding to that sign than you would think..I guess its all the free advertising they are getting on TV..Today makes 4 loads over there..Are we having fun yet??Too tired to tell, but I feel good..I'm starting to get back in shape..I can work my a** off for about 6 minutes, before I have to sit down and rest my back and hip..Sounds like I'm complaining .. Not really..Squeeze ya soon!! MB out.
I didn't mean that all the people didn't care..I was judging by the size of the loads that were taken out of there this week..If I ruffled your feathers then I'm sorry but thats what I do..Sometimes people need a little nudge to make them do more..If everybody does a little, then we get more accomplished..This isn't a contest anyway..Its real people doing things for real people..We might be the one that needs the help next time..We are in Tornado country..Thats why I built us a steel and concrete building..Just in case..Gotta go..
There was also a big Semi at Wal-Mart in West Plains that was taking donations. That were we dropped our stuff off at. I do think people in West Planins care about the people down south
Day 8, wow what a week..We have had an influx of clothing, that is amazing..My truck and trailer were so full you couldn't get another bag of anything on there..I don't know where all this stuff is coming from, but I'm glad it is here..The people at the OZARK ACTION office in Westplains were amazed at the amount of things we have collected in this past week..Alton is only a small town of 600+ people..To have collected all this from that amount is wonderful..We have far surpassed the city of Westplains that has over 10,000 people in it..I guess that the people over here know what it is like to be hungry and poor..I have nothing but praise for the people here in Alton who have poured their hearts out to help these poor unfortunate people of the Hurricane Katrina..We will still be taking donations until Sunday evening..The next load will go over Monday morning..Still at it in Alton, MB & Ivy out.
