Hey Moonbear & Ivy, Great job.  I am really proud of you for what you have done. And of the little town of Alton for collecting so much!  Do you have a count of how many trailer loads you all sent? I'd like to know.  We up here in Rolla (much bigger town...around 15,000), have a number of organizations collecting. We have a Salvation Army store here and a Goodwill; both have been taking donations. (Salvation Army had to ask for a temporary stop on accepting any more until they could get what they had sorted and packed up. They were asking for volunteers to help with that. I would have liked to help, but my health won't let me do anything.) Kids at the Middle and Jr/High schools were collecting items and money; kids at the elementary schools were collecting change, and having contests with their teachers to collect more.  Many of the banks and businesses were collecting money for the Red Cross and churches were accepting donations. The Presbyterian Church has moved their preschool classes out of the gym area and set up cots and supplies, as they were notified they were chosen as a possible site to receive evacuees. So Rolla has been busy trying to help as well as many other places in Missouri. The rebuilding and cleanup will be a long process, so the relief effort will need to continue after the immediate crisis has eased up. Thanks again. Now rest!             You've shown a true American spirit and the spirit of BTW.

Hey Moonbear and Ivy, I am proud of you two!! I know you worked your tails off and I know you must be just worn out but you did a great job and I know you really feel good about all you have accomplished. Go home and get out the Ben Gay give each other a rub down and prop your feet up and relax for a few days. We won't get to see you at the meeting Sat. as we are trying to get a Chapter started up here in Rolla. But I do hope to see you at the reunion at the end of the month. Have a good R&R and keep your knees in the breeze,

Thats right, we are BURNED OUT..This past weekend has been hot and slow..I will be taking the trailer over to Westplains', OZARK ACTION, tomorrow morning to be unloaded and then its back to the farm and rest up for the weekend..Ivy has been in her element with all this work and public contact..She is a natural salesperson, but like me she is getting older too and can't keep it up forever..We need a break..I just hope we can find enough young strong people to help us unload the trailer when we get over there..See ya's soon..MB & IVY out..
