Gary and I are going to be in Florida from January to the middle of March, we would love to have you all come down there. I know Dale could figure out a route.
Dang!! Everyone is going off to warmer places this winter. I think I'll take Lil Jinx and go to some place down south. Maybe A Wal-Marts down around Cabool or some place like that. (I wonder if there is a Wal-Mart in Cabool.) Oh well I will think of something.
Rosie - I think getting together during the winter months is a great idea. Lady an I are going to Hawaii the first of December. Maybe we could have a luncheon get together in Maui. All we have to do is talk Dale into buying a Leer jet to get everyone over there. I know, Paw could build him one but he is pretty busy right now with all his other projects. Besides, Dale is the road captain, so he should be the one doing the flying. Jim Garrison has his ultralight but that would involve several trips as he can only haul one passenger at a time. Tom and Linda are also going to the Carribean, that would be another nice place for lunch.
Having OMT sponsor a run during TRIKE WEEk is also an excellent idea. I am sure that some of the out of town members would feel a lot better about going on a ride if someone was leading them that knew the way. We just wont mention the run from Gravois Mills. That all worked out pretty well everything considered. Everyone wound up where they were supposed to be even though some of us just took a different route getting there and the way I look at it, if no one missed eating, there was no foul.
Nice to know that you are giving your new positon some serious thought and are planning ahead. We will have fun no matter what we decide to do. That is what it is all about. getting together, sharing ideas, having fun and picking on poor BungeeMan
I'VE BEEN DOING SOME THINKING ABOUT THE EXTRA WINTER MONTHLY GET TOGETHERS - THERE'S LOTS OF STEAM OVER WEST PLAINS TONIGHT! SINCE I REALLY DON'T KNOW ALL THE AREAS YOU'RE FROM - MAYBE YOU GUYS COULD CHOOSE WHERE WE'D MEET FOR LUNCH OR DINNERS. FOR EXAMPLE: THE MEMBERS FROM THE FORSYTH, OZARK, SPRINGFIELD AREA COULD CHOOSE A PLACE, THE MEMBERS FROM AVA/MANSFIELD/NORWOOD AREA THE NEXT MONTH, THE MEMBERS FROM GAINSVILLE AREA THE NEXT MONTH, AND THEN THE WEST PLAINS, ALTON MEMBERS. THERE'S PROBABLY OTHER AREAS THAT I'M FORGETTING - I'M SORRY IF I HAVE. IT'S JUST AN IDEA MAYBE YOU COULD TALK ABOUT AT THE MEETING. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS OTHER IDEAS - - -?
AT THE LAST MEETING, SUE HAD GIVEN ME SOME INFO ON A RIDE THAT WE COULD PLAN OUT FOR TRIKE WEEK. MAYBE SINCE WE'RE THE HOME CHAPTER FOR TRIKE WEEK, WE SHOULD PLAN AN ACTIVITY THAT OTHER TRIKERS COULD SHARE WITH US. I KNOW IT'S HARD TO DO A LARGE RIDE - WE MESSED THAT ONE UP AT GRAVOIS MILLS - HAHA. BUT IF EVERYONE KNEW THE ROUTE - MAYBE GIVEN A MAP WHEN THEY SIGNED UP - AND MAYBE HAVE MORE THAN ONE LOOKOUT. IT'S ALOT OF PRESSURE ON THE ROAD CAPTAIN TO KEEP A BUNCH OF MISFITS LIKE US ALL TOGETHER - THE RADIOS/CELL PHONES DON'T WORK - CAN'T HEAR OVER THE SOUND OF THE TRIKE AND WIND. WE HAVE ALL WINTER TO THINK ABOUT HOW WE COULD WORK OUT AN OMT EVENT AT TRIKE WEEK.
